How do I get out of this deep depression?

I’m 14 and frankly, my life sucks. Let me explain a little bit:

First, my older brother (19 years old) has an autism called Asperger’s Syndrome. It’s a language disorder that complicates writing, English, and grammar. It also causes anxiety, OCD, and he has a hard time socializing. Now, let me remind you that he is an ADULT. He is supposed to have independence, responsibility, and some maturity. He can’t even wash the dishes! He won’t feed the dogs because he doesn’t want to mess up his routine (OCD). So guess who gets stuck with doing all of his chores… ME! I don’t think this is fair because it’s his house and animals too. He makes messes and I think he should clean them up. I hate it because it’s just not fair!

Then, I’m gonna go into all these quirks and routines he has. He is always laying down. He’s lazy and he doesn’t do anything. He is in college, but my mom does all of his work for him. All he has to say is “Mom, I don’t get this.” Then everyone rushes to his aid and we ALL have to help him. He only has 3 classes!!!!!!!!!!! Trust me, I understand having tons of homework every night. I really do! But my point is is that it’s not fair to me or my mom, who is in college also, to do all of his work for him!

My brother is just plain annoying and he’s stuck up. Everything revolves around him! If you saw my family, you’d understand.

Ok, now to the deep stuff.

In February, I started having seizures. I was at an ice skating competition and I got sick with the flu. I had an asthma attack that was so bad I had to go to the ER. They gave me a steroid and some albuterol treatments. Six hours later, I started having seizures. All the doctors told me it was emotional and I needed therapy. So, I did go to therapy and nothing was wrong. I missed six weeks of school and I only went to school part time. I had up to 30 seizures every day but they turned into migraines, which are treatable. So I’m on meds now, but sometimes I get these terrible migraines that immobilize me. I still miss a ton of school.

My parents…….sigh…….. THEY DON’T UNDERSTAND A WORD I SAY AND THEY CAN’T GET IT THROUGH THEIR THICK SKULLS THAT THEY ARE PURELY TRANSPARENT!!!!!!

They love my brother more. I can tell. With him. the whole world revolves around him. No one gets it. I understand he has a disability. I really do! But does that give them an excuse to love him more? I’m not being dramatic here. They will go to the ends of the earth for him. They won’t walk two feet for me.

My mom and I fight so much. We have a fight and get in each other’s faces every single day. She is verbally abusive. She calls me stupid and selfish and not good enough for anyone.She reminds me every day. The perfect song to describe my mother is “Mean” by Taylor Swift. She uses my love for God and my church youth group as a weapon. She can push me down or build me up in two seconds. It hurts because I feel like a puppet.

I never see my dad. He leaves for work early and gets home late.

I don’t really have an adult I can talk to. I’m really depressed because I have all of these scars but I can’t get the pain out. So can someone help me and give me tips on how to keep my chin up?

Ive been really busy with work and school and havnt found time to make an appt. yet but just so i know what im dealing with here id like to know what kind of things may be wrong with me, i know i cant self diagnose but i dont know how serious this is…

ive always had migraines but i have headaches alot now
i have cloudy urine (but it doesnt hurt or burn like having a UTI)
i urine less then usual
i have really low blood pressure supposibly
i get dizzy a lot if im standing and get annoyed at people quicker then usual
i have severe lower back pain
i feel like i have to pop every joint in my body all the time because they ache
i always feel like i have a fever even when i dont
and i always feel like my hands are cold my people say they arent

i dont know whats wrong, id think some type of infection but lately its been so bad that sometimes i hypervenalate and lose my breathe and freak out… ill goto the dr. soon but what should i expect? thanks

My baby is 7 1/2 months old and 2 months ago I started taking a birth control pill, Valetta (German doc prescribed it) Before I started taking the pill my hormones seemed to be back to normal after pregnancy : no more mood swings, no more being ridiculously emotional, I was feeling great! About 1 1/2 weeks into starting the pill, I started to get migraines really bad, a couple a week. I was really moody, flipping out about the stupidest thing and holding a grudge about it. Getting weepy at things I normally wouldn’t. My face started breaking out too and the only time in my life it has ever broken out, ever! is when I was pregnant. My periods (this is only my second one) are bad too. I have a really heavy flow that lasts a full 6 days and my cramps are almost unbearable. I have never had cramps before and my flow has always been light and only lasted 3-4 days tops.

This is my third baby and after my first two my periods went right back to normal. I have never been on this pill before, always been on Ortho (prescribed from the states) and it worked really well with non of these side effects.

Should I contact my doctor and see about switching to a different pill? Or is this just the new me after having another baby?

what were/are your first “strange” symptoms of pregnancy?

Hi ladies! I wanted to see how many of us have “strange” pregnancy symptoms or the ones that no one ever really says anything about. I know a lot or people get the common sore breasts and morning sickness, I did with all three of my last pregnancies but now Im pregnant with my fourth and Im finding I have weird symptoms that Im assuming can only be pregnancy related. Im 6 weeks and 3 days (due 7-4-10) and so far Ive just now started to notice these:

-not sore but sensitive nipples. im constantly walking around with “my headlights on” lol. even my bra causes this at times.
-I dont want to eat anything. It looks good, smells good but I just dont want it. I have to force myself to eat at times.
-after I eat, I throw up. Im a little queasy before but way worse after!
-from weeks 2-4.5 I had constant migraine headaches. Im happy they finally went away!
-I am extremely gassy! Like burping wise. I feel like I have air bubbles stuck in my chest at times and its painful!
-I have this lovely taste in my mouth and I really wish it would go away.
-I would sleep all day but not at night! I would kill to take a nap during the day but working doesnt allow it but when its finally bed time, I cant sleep!
-Most of the time Im freezing cold but at random times Ill have hot flashes or chills
-on and off stuffy nose
-low dull backache
-constipation but when I finally go its like Im running to the bathroom all day (sorry tmi)

What all did you have and when did it start for you? I know things will probably be getting worse for me in the next few weeks and Im looking forward to about weeks 14-18 when it will hopefully end!

Hi, my name is Yannick Doucet, 23 year old male living in Canada.

I seek your help and advices for I have been experiencing headaches EVERYDAY for the past 7 months. It seemed to have started with a bad cold or sinusitis at the beginning of February.
The pain level can go from 2-3, (usual daily headache), to about 6-7 where it’s close to a migraine and I can’t concentrate or do anything.

- I have had a MRI in 2009, due to a swimming accident where I hit my head on the side of the pool, but nothing showed up.
- I have had a CT in April 2011 and nothing showed up either.
- I’ve seen a Sinus (ORL Specialist) and said that my headaches didn’t come from a sinus infection. I was prescribed various Antibiotics for sinus infection and didn’t seem to help either.
- I’ve seen a Neurologist and she prescribe me Elavils, which I took for a month and then stopped because it didn’t help the headaches, only made me sleepy all day and even more depressed.
- I’ve tried chiropractic (for months with 2 different chiropractors)
- I’ve also tried Acupuncture, physiotherapy, osteopathy and nothing seemed to help.

Nothing seems to directly trigger my headaches so please take a look at my symptoms that I’ve summed up over the past 7 months since February. I am fed up, sick and tired of this, I shouldn’t live like this at 23 years old. I used to exercise a lot and be active but can’t anymore. So please..

Symptoms :

Headache everyday 7 months – No relief (No completely headache free days)
Forehead headache sometimes, pain when touching forehead.
Headache can vary from the back, lower back, sides, temple, and back of the neck.
I sometimes wake up from sleep when headache is too strong.
Dizziness when getting up after lying down. Also, wind sensation in my head. (Dizziness, heaviness)
Swollen Lymph Nodes (Armpits), it happened 7 to 8 times during the 7 months
Stiffneck every 1-2 days.
Fatigue!!!
Running eye sometimes
Back pain (lower back), could be due to my work in the past.
Sometimes I get depressed when headache is too strong.
The headaches causes extra stress and I’ve had about 4-5 sleepless nights in the last 6 months.
Loss of appetite sometimes when headache is too strong
Sometimes headache is worse when bending down. (Pressure is worse)

Advils, Tylenols, Motrin does not seem to help at all.

Please, any help or person with same symptoms is more than welcome.

Okay so this morning me and my sister went to school as usual and i noticed she was really aggrivated and looked deppresed (She has had a history with Si and drug abuse) i asked her what was wrong and she said nothing..that she was just tired Later on in the day she started comlaining of a really bad headache..I told her to just suck it up and deal with it because there would be nobody that could come and get her from school because our parents were working..She started acting weirder and weirder in class she would just stare off into space and wasn’t really responsive to anything..Then she all of a sudden started getting better..We had lunch and i saw her and she was smiling and acting fine so i thought okay thats good, Maybe her headache went away..After lunch i went to my class and she wasn’t there..She came in 10 min late. And when she came in..She was completley out of it..I have never seen her so pale..She went and sat down at her desk and was just staring at her paper..She couldnt even keep her balance, her whole body was shaking and i was like woah what the hell is wrong with you? Our teacher noticed it to and called the nurse.We went into a seperate room and the nurse took her vital signs and her heart rate was crazy..144. I don’t know much about medical stuff but the nurse said that was way to high for a 15 year old..That her heart was 2x its normal speed and there was no way it coulda happened without something in her system..We tryed to talk to her but she was just staring off into space..Her eyes were fixed and she couldnt even speak….I am still not convinced it was just the flu or something..It really scared the living crap out of me..Earlier this evening when we came home she was so out of it and im like DAD DO SOMETHING,This is not her something is definatly wrong. So he called the police and they came and gave her a drug test she tested negtive for everything..Which was a big relief but at the same time we just got more worried that something really was wrong with her! So we took her to the doctor and they said it was just migranes that was causing all of this..i was like Migraines? Really? When we went home she started feeling better..And then got worse again. I really didn’t know migraines were that bad! Does it still explain the shakyness unability to stand and just staring off into space..I really thought she was on drugs but she denys it and so does the Drug test..I am so Confused! The only other time she acted like this was when she was crashing. I just have that gut feeling that something else is going on.What should i do?

Mental health issue, SSRI’s and what to do!!?

I’ve been really REALLY struggling with my anxiety disorder since March 15th when it began. I’ve never had this and it was triggered on that day followed by weeks and months of anxiety and depression. I’ve been on paxil 30 mg, didn’t work, starting up prozac but having horrible side effects.

I’ve got school in 20 days, I can handle the work as I am very thorough when it comes to work (accounting/economics) but I keep dry heaving, migraines, insomnia and just about every crazy symptom. I doubt I can do presentations and stuff because I can hardly do anything atm.

I’m in my 4th year with a solid GPA and I have no idea what to do. Should I stop school until I’m better? Therapy DOES NOT WORK, I go and expose myself and just throw up and pass out wherever I go. I swear. Do you find medication that works? Should I be on disability? I’ve worked so many jobs and have always paid taxes, shouldn’t when I’m unable to support myself be able to get help? Like REAL help, not just mumbo jumbo about breathing?

What did you guys do, Please answer this question as well as you can. Is it even possible in Canada to apply for support with an anxiety disorder? It’s not like I want to, but I can’t do anything without dying, I NEED HELP FUCK

Why is Midrin the only thing that has ever worked for my severe cramps?

I discovered this when I used to have really bad migraines. It didn’t work as well for the migraines as some of the more modern treatments such as Frova and Relpax. It totally alleviated my cramps. this might be a little long, i’ll try to keep it as short as i can, but i want to try to say everything so the whole question will make more sence and hopefully help the answerers understand. sorry for the length /: but thank you for the help!
i’m wondering other people’s opinions and/or experiences with summer school. i need to pick between going to the high school like most kids do or doing the class online.
i talked to my psychologist today and she said that she’d support me doing the online school for summer school this year. i have to do biology only. i have been told by my IEP team at school about online classes and they said they are good. that they explain things well and you can talk to a teacher through webcam or chatting.
i get bad anxiety in class. i can’t focus on my work because of it no matter how hard i try. another thing that the anxiety causes is it’s really hard for me to ask teachers questions in front of the whole class. it’s hard for me to do my best because of this and i really do want to do good.
another problem that is making me consider online is because i have a bad sleep pattern. i stay awake really late. the earliest i normally go to sleep is 2am but if i’m up after that i’m a lot of times up until at least 5am. since i don’t get to sleep early i sleep in late into the after noon. until around 3pm. i don’t do this on purpose. i have been on many sleep meds and they have never worked. i went to a sleep doctor a week and a half ago and he gave me little natural treatments that i can do on my own. he said that sleep patterns can’t really be controlled because it’s just how i was born. a lot of people have their biological sleep clocks that are set for the wrong times. now of course i can’t sleep in that late every day so i’m not getting a lot of sleep. i get really bad migraines from a brain injury and not getting enough sleep can cause me to have more of them. i want to try to get a normal amount of sleep to try and have that lessen the migraines which means i wouldn’t be able to wake up in time everyday to go to summer school at the high school.
if i do online then i would be able to do my class work at night when i am the most awake.
my psychologist wants me to look into a couple online schools in my area and get answers to a couple questions that i have so that can help me decide if this would be a good choice too. i wanted to ask on here too to see if anyone has had any experience with this type of thing or know someone who has. i want to make the most out of my education. by the way, 10th grade biology is the class i am taking this summer.
i know that the 2 teachers that will be doing summer school at the high school don’t know a whole lot about biology. since neither are biology teachers, one is a history teacher. this doesn’t mean that they know nothing but wouldn’t know as much.
another thing is that if i don’t understand i will be able to call or email this girl i know that is majoring in biology in college right now. she’s been doing this for a year or 2 so far and isn’t done yet so she knows a bunch about biology. so i can ask her any questions i have and get help from her.
i’m not sure if the online schools have a certain amount of work that needs to be done each day. i think that i’d like to find one that doesn’t because if i’m not able to do part of it because i don’t understand it i won’t be able to get the amount of daily work done. if i did an online that doesn’t have an amount i would deffinately set my own goals. i already have the times i would start working on the school work. i’d have to see how the first couple days go to get the schedual completely planned out and i’m going to try and get a part time job for this summer so i’ll have to go around that schedual as well. but i’ll still make goals to make sure i get all the work done in time and pass this class.
i don’t think that i’ll have to pull myself away from my social life, since being social is important for health and things like that. i would plan my work around my plans just like i would if i had a doctor appt. if i took summer school i’ll be missing out on time i can be with friends too. if i do online it’s more flexible.
when i get really bad migraines i get sick–like can’t stay awake, can’t eat, throw up, all that–but if i do summer school at the school i can only miss 3 days but i’m going to a camp this summer and that will take up the couple days that i am able to miss. if you’ve ever had a real migraine not just a headach i’m sure you can understand this that you just can’t function and think. so i wouldn’t be able to stay home to sleep it off or stay in case i get sick because i can’t miss any more days. i would still try to get at least a little work done with a migraine until i can’t handle doing a

Feeling terrible lately?

For the past 5 days, ive been feeling extremely weak, fatigued, had a fever for the first 4 days, achy, with a terrible headache/migraine pain (in the temple area) that would increase (weirdly as it may seem) depending on which angle i slept in, and how I rested my head. I was sent home early from work tuesday, and have been out since.

Im hoping I can return to work Monday! I know these symptoms could mean any type of problem, does any1 know what this may be??? My boyfriend had it before me, for about 3 hrs., just not nearly as bad… Mine has been much worse — worse symptoms, longer fever, not much sleep, etc., and has lasted longer. I also have a weakened immune system (due to heart problems), which may be why its taking longer to shake this. Any help would be great..

** ALSO, SINCE IVE BEEN LAYING DOWN NON STOP SINCE TUESDAY AFTER BEING SENT HOME, I GET REAL DIZZY WHEN I SIT UP OR TRY TO WALK. I ALMOST FALL OVER. I HAVE HIGH BP SO MAYB THIS IS Y? MY LEGS FEEL RUBBERY!
